Every year, Rotary gives up to 130 fully sponsored fellowships to dedicated leaders from all over the world for studies at any of our peace centers.

These fellowships are most suitable for leaders with work experience in peace and development.
The Rotary Peace Fellows are people who are committed to the society and international service and will always fight for peace.
The Rotary Foundation, every year accepts up to 50 fellows for Master’s degrees and 80 fellows for certificate programs at world-class universities.
The Types of Programs – Rotary Peace Fellowships
- Master’s degree studies
In this program, the selected candidates will be studying peace and development affairs with emphasis on research and teaching.
The Master’s degree programs will last up to 15 – 24 months and will include a 2 – 3 months field program.
2. Certificate programs in professional development
This learning program lasts for one year and entails professionals gaining practical experience to establish peace within their local communities and across the world. This program involves some social work. The program is most suitable for working individuals. Upon completion of their studies, fellows will be awarded a post-graduate diploma.

Eligibility Requirements – Rotary Peace Fellowships
For the Master’s degree programs, candidates must:
- Be fluent in English Language
- Have a Bachelor’s degree
- Be willing to understand cultures and should have done some community or personal service
- Have a potential for leadership
- Have at least 3 years experience in peace or development service

For the Certificate Programs in Professional Development, candidates must:
- Be fluent in English Language
- Have a Bachelor’s degree
- Have 5 years or more relevant work experience in peace or development
- Be willing to understand cultures and should have done some community or personal service
- Demonstrate leadership qualities
- Show how their plans to propagate peace will align with the Rotary Foundation’s mission
- For Makerere University, candidates should either be from Africa, have worked in Africa, or should be currently working with African communities or African initiatives outside the continent.
