Fully Funded Postgraduate Study at the University of Oxford
The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest (first awarded in 1902) and perhaps most prestigious international scholarship programme, enabling outstanding young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford.
Why is this Scholarship Different?
The scholarship is not just a financial bursary, it is a life-changing opportunity for exceptional young people with the potential to make a difference for good in the world.
Rhodes Scholars are people who have a vision of how the world could be better and the energy to make a difference – Whatever their sphere of interest.
Selection Committees select on the basis not only of intellect, but also of character, leadership and commitment to service… This Scholar Programme in Oxford aims to build on these Rhodes Scholar qualities, with first and second-year retreats, workshops and conferences, in addition to social and discussion events, hosted at Rhodes House. There are also many Scholar organized groups

Note – A Constituency is a country, a group of countries, and/or territories, and/or states for the purposes of administering scholarships.
The Rhodes Trust warmly welcomes applications from talented young persons of diverse backgrounds.
Selection of Rhodes Scholars is made without regard to gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, colour, religion, social background, caste or disability.
Excellence, Merit and Diversity
The integrity of the Rhodes selection process is of paramount importance to our community.
A recent op-ed accused the Trust of allowing racial preferences to override our selection criteria of excellence of intellect and character and potential for positive impact. In response, Warden Kiss affirmed that our selectors are directed to choose the strongest candidates and instructed not to favour diversity of any kind.
We celebrate the diversity of recent Scholar cohorts because they show the Trust is overcoming a history of exclusion and building more diverse applicant pipelines. By widening the pool, we strengthen our commitment to excellence.
